LGBT Youth Scotland Training

On Monday 4th of December WLWA and the Citizen’s Advice Bureau organised an LGBT Youth Scotland Training Day, with an input from Police Scotland, to raise awareness during the 16 Days of Action and promote inclusivity and a positive step forward in ending gender-based violence.

The event, ran by Janice (LGBT Youth Scotland), covered; terminology, domestic abuse, barriers to accessing services and much more.

Those attending came from organisations and services working across West Lothian (many of which WLWA work with to provide a multi-agency approach to supporting women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse).

Feedback from one attendee, “This training opened my eyes to the different problems faced by young people in the LGBT community… I feel so much more confident in my use of terminology.”
